Puffins

Puffins are truly magical birds for so many reasons, however their striking and perhaps comical looks surely make them everyone’s favourite sea bird. The opportunity the sea kayak gives to ‘get up close’ to puffins is too good to miss and here are a selection of places from around the Scottish coastline where this is possible. They mate for life and spend their entire time living at sea apart for the few months they come ashore to breed, arriving in March and April then leaving by mid-August. Be sure to plan your trips within these months to enjoy getting up close with the puffins.
