It was the naturalist Dr Fraser Darling who has possibly given Priest Island its fame when he lived on the island in the 1930’s and wrote his book, Island Years. It is no surprise that he chose Priest Island as it’s remote setting and lack of easy landing makes it an ideal refuge for wildlife. Add to this the caves and arches along with the idyllic sandy beach at the start and finish, and this is a great day out.
