Rattray Head

Never ending sandy beaches and an unusual lighthouse

19 KM

Grade B

For those familiar with the inshore waters forecast then Rattray Head will be a household name, and no doubt have conjured up all kinds of images in the imagination. As it happens it is not a headland at all, but more an area of sand dunes that project into the North Sea. It does provide a fairly uniquely positioned lighthouse that rises up from the shallow waters with a backdrop of sand.
