Our vision for this website is first and foremost to inspire people to explore the wonderful Scottish coast by Sea Kayak, this done with information to support exploration in a safe responsible manner.
We hope the information provided helps you enjoy your paddling, and have a positive impact on the local communities and natural environment you pass through. We have used many photographs for inspiration, links to further information and updates on safety/access information for the guidebooks that work alongside the website.
Appreciating Scotland has so much magical coastline to explore, yet aware how certain areas are seeing impact through popularity. We hope the website information will encourage people to visit different areas and be respectful with their trip planning.
As well as being passionate sea kayakers we write and sell sea kayaking guidebooks too! The guidebooks provide much more detail about trip specifics and full tidal information than we have here on our website. Whilst the website shows way more pictures than we had space to print!

I have enjoyed exploring the Scottish coastline and introducing it to others through coaching and guiding for over 30 years. Having been fortunate enough to sea kayak many of the world’s coastlines, I’m more certain than ever what we have on offer in Scotland is quite simply uniquely stunning!
My passion is supporting others get the most out of what motivates them in their outdoor activities. Inspired by those whom I’ve taught on the sea I have written guide books and skills books to share further knowledge; all to support and inspire people in discovering and achieving their dreams.
These days (when not out playing and having adventures) I deliver bespoke coaching & guiding services, as well as supporting future coaches & leaders in the delivery of British Canoeing courses. For more information on this or to contact me click here.

Building this website was a new project for me, giving me a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills and spend hours looking at amazing photographs during some long lockdown months during 2020!
I have paddled all my life (nearly!)… and when I moved to Scotland it was an amazing opportunity to explore the incredible Scottish coastline by sea kayak. I’ve always loved journeying and exploring by kayak, the sense of inaccessible places becoming accessible!
Gathering photographs/information for the on-going guidebook projects (and now the website) has given us a great focus to get to so many different places – it’s a delight to be able to share some of this with you.
We would love to hear from you….. If you have any comments on our site, or useful information that you think our users would appreciate please do get in touch.
